VisualTechnologies India Pvt. Ltd., (VTI) won a tender for the supply of two state of art 10 Camera HD vans to Doordarshan Kendra Mumbai and Delhi. These vans have delivered to them in 2014.

As per the Doordarshan specifications these two vans were to be equipped with broadcast equipment.

To meet the above operational / storage requirement as per the Doordarshan’s Tender specs. We had selected “Ashok Leyland” make (Model: 2516 XL) vehicle to ensure that –

Brief Details on Lay-out of the OB Van:

Vehicle have a 2 tier dedicated storage room of about 600 mm width with two doors for the easy storage of 10 camera boxes each containing all the accessories and lenses of the respective Camera system. A rear side 4 tier storage have 2 independent

Production Room/Area:

A Snell 3ME production console is installed under the monitor wall consisting of four 17” and twenty one 9” monitors from Plura.

Audio Booth:

Special attention was paid while designing this room to make it suitable to the extent possible for surround Dolby sound production and monitoring.

This room has been provided with a very large window in such a way so as to give a clear view of the Production wall to the audio mixer engineer. The area can be isolated from the Production and technical area by closing the doors provided for this purpose. It is equipped with five plus one woofer loud speaker with built-in amplifier from GENLEC.

Technical Area:

This area have CCU control area for 10 HD Cameras and have enough space to easily accommodate two more Cameras for future expansion, Slow motion and Recorder / Player desk, five full size equipment racks, PS distribution & control rack and UPS along with its battery bank.

Air - conditioning:

Four 2.2 TR cassette type A/C have been provided in the Van. Production and Audio room/area has one A/C unit each and techical area have two units. These Units haave been installed in such a way so as to give a clear height of 2.1 meter above the floor.
