The CamBot Robotic Camera Systems offers the following features :-

  • Range of solutions to fit most production needs

  • Fast, Robust, and Durable

  • High accuracy for positioning and tracking

  • All of the CamBot systems offer an optional local control module to release remote control and permit a camera operator to step behind the camera and operate it manually.

  • Returning to remote control is a matter of throwing a single switch, without requiring homing or targeting – regardless of how much the system moved while in local mode.

  • CamBot shines in the demanding environment of an automated production control room. All CamBots interface with the leading automated production systems, including Ross Video OverDrive.

  • CamBot uses the same SmartShell v4 Control System as the Furio line, with the legacy Cambot UI still available.

  • The CamBot series is controlled over IP/Ethernet, facilitating commissioning and cabling.

CamBot Primary Capabilities

Offers the highest performance robotic cameras systems in the industry.

  • CamBot has been designed with heavy payloads in mind, supporting up to 90 kg (200 pounds) of cameras, lenses, prompters, and fixtures providing an overall superior value.
  • At 32 kg (70 lbs), the 520PT has a higher payload than any other compact head on the market, in many cases offering more than twice the payload of competing products.
  • All Cambot PT heads offer a maximum pan/tilt speed of 90 deg/sec.

Incorporates a number of unique technologies that make it more accurate, more reliable, and easier to maintain.

  • CamBot Free-Roaming XY pedestals were designed from the ground up as no excuses robotic pedestals, not converted from manual pedestals.
  • Best-in-class positional accuracy and repeatability through a unique Differential Steering design that eliminates wheel scrub, while optical pattern recognition technology guarantees fast and accurate re-targeting.
  • Precise and repeatable movements are produced by special gearboxes that eliminate backlash, while high-resolution servos provide smoothness and control, minimizing the need for manual adjustments to compensate for inaccuracies.
  • Users are able to deliver higher quality productions at much lower operational costs.
  • Using proprietary geometry, together with optical targeting, the 700XY targets in seconds, navigates studio floors with millimeter precision, ends wheel-scrub floor damage, and eliminates the need for periodic sensor and target cleaning.

The CamBot 700XY pedestal is the industry’s highest payload fully robotic pedestal, with a net payload of 90 kg (200 lbs). It is also available as a stand-alone pan-tilt head for mounting on manual studio pedestals or tripods.

CamBot 600 series is available as a stand-alone pan/tilt head for tripod mounting, or with an elevation column on a manual base, or as a fully robotic, free-roaming pedestal. Its 55 kg (125 lb) payload capacity easily carries typical studio configurations with Teleprompters and preview monitors. The elevation column adds extremely smooth on-air quality vertical moves to the production at an economical price point, while the two XY models provide ultimate flexibility at breakthrough prices. As our most versatile studio robotic system, the 600 series offers a solution for just about any application or budget.

CamBot 500 series incorporates an offset tilt axis that greatly reduces the need for awkward counter-weights, and makes it an ideal choice when space is constrained and no motorized elevation is needed. The system’s 70-pound load capacity easily accommodates small to medium-sized Teleprompters and can be mixed and matched with all other Ross Robotic heads and control systems.

As an option, local control can be added to any of the CamBot systems, permitting operators to control Pan and Tilt locally via traditional pan bars, and elevation and floor movement using a locally-mounted Joystick. Changing between manual and remote (robotic) operation is literally as easy as flicking a switch, and requires no re-homing when returning to remote operation – all presets are immediately available.
