The launch of the world's first and award
winning IDX Lithium Ion battery NP-L40 in
1996, has pioneered the use of Li-Ion in
professional video as the most popular battery
format. With the continuing trend to new
digital format cameras, the demand for lightweight,
more powerful batteries increases. The IDX
NP-L7/NP-L7S weigh less than a pound, last
nearly twice as long per use as typical
NiCd batteries and never need a discharge.
The IDX NP-L7/NP-L7S can be topped off,
never building a memory effect, can be used
weeks after charging, and is environmentally
friendly. The innovative IDX Li-Ion technology
secures the future of your portable electronic
equipment with the world's most advanced
battery technology.

Energy
Density
Li-ion
for any given weight represents the
most powerful battery technology available.
This unique energy to weight ratio
means it is an ideal technology for
video cameras and the natural successor
to NiCD.
Comparison of battery technologies
showing Li-ion to have the highest
power to weight ratio (highest energy
density per unit weight of any rechargeable
cylindrical cell battery).

Power
Status Display
The NP-L7 has a built-in
5 LED array, giving quick and precise
indication of the remaining battery
capacity. It shows remaining capacity
in 20% increments as 100%, 80%, 60%,
40% and 20%. A 6th level is produced
by the final LED flashing when the
battery capacity falls below 10%.
These accurate readings are determined
not by simple voltage but by the built-in
microprocessor knowing each initial
charged status and calculating from
the subsequent discharge / running
conditions.
The NP-L7S has a 3 LED power status
indicator and uses a current accumulation
method for capacity detection
